The St. Jerome Faith Formation Program assists the families of St. Jerome Catholic Church in providing religious instruction and formation for children in Pre-K through Confirmation according to the Guidelines of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. It is responsible for providing & supervising sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. St. Jerome's Faith Formation Program also trains and provides volunteer instructors (catechists) who teach the weekly classes.
Faith Formation classes are to assist the parents in their "first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2223). The program can not succeed without the assistance of parents providing a Christian homelife, reinforcing the teachings of Jesus, and taking their children to Sunday Mass.
St. Jerome is dedicated to preventing the transmission of COVID-19. We are following CDC guidelines for sanitation, social distancing and face coverings. Even with these precautions, infections are still possible and may result in serious illness or even death. If you have concerns about your child’s safety or your child or someone in your household is in a vulnerable population, you may opt to have your child participate in religious education/youth group on-line or by correspondence. If you have questions about whether your child or a family member are in a vulnerable population, please visit the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/other-at-risk- populations.html
