Companions for the Journey is an organization dedicated to serving the home bound, the sick and those grieving. We will bring Holy Communion to the shut-ins as often as you like and pray with the family caretakers. We offer our friendship by praying with you and for you. If you are grieving over a loved one, take comfort in knowing you are not alone. We also have a Gathering of those Grieving on the 3rd Thursday of every month. We offer a forum to voice your feelings, topics to cope, and speak with a counsler if you wish. At the request of the family, a priest will visit the sick person and give the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. The Chairperson of our group is Daryl Rutkowski (210)777-2652 and the Co-Chairperson is Kathy Snoga (210)289-6249, Secretary is Alice Rutkowski (210) 296-1380.
We also have a Mass for the deceased members of our Parish Family and their Loved Ones on the First Friday of every month. Included also, those who are sick and those who are homebound. We have chosen this day because the Sacred Heart of Jesus who appeared to St. Margaret Mary has asked us to make 9 first Friday's in honor of his Sacred Heart. In the past this devotion was honored by a great many people. We would like to continue this tradition and have set our Masses for that day. Many graces can be obtained for our departed loved ones and ourselves by attending the First Friday Mass with that intention in mind. If you are among this group please consider coming to Mass that day. Check out this web site for information and prayers. https://www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/prayers.
