There are many ways to serve God and the parish of St. Jerome through our Liturgical Celebration. Below are the Ushers, Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers, and Lectors. All serve an important role in our celebration, as do the Altar Servers, Music Ministry and Rosary Ministry found in the Submenu to the right. Also on this page under Documents, the schedules for each ministry are attached. Anyone wishing to serve in any of these ministries is invited to contact the appropriate person whose contact information can be found below.
Liturgical Minsitry Include: Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers, Sacristans, and Music Ministry.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God clearly and understandably so that all who hear may respond.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
These lay people are sometimes referred to as Eucharistic Ministers.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest in distributing the Eucharist at Mass. They may also serve by bringing communion to parishioners who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes and unable to get to church.

Ushers
Being a welcoming community is very important to us at St. Jerome. Ushers are the first face of the parish. They greet those coming into our church, offer assistance to those in need, distribute parish bulletins, take up the collection, and distribute other materials as needed.
If you wish to consider this ministry, please attend one of our meetings or contact:
Ricardo Maldonado (210) 413-1576 or William Lowman (210) 316-4793.
Sacristans
Sacristans assist, facilitate, and provide support and coordination for other liturgical ministries. In addition, they make the necessary preparations for liturgical activities.
Music Ministry
The Ministry of Music provides music during weekend Masses, holy days, weddings, funerals and Reconciliation services. Parishioners are invited to share their musical talents with the rest of the congregation through this ministry.
The Music Ministry of St. Jerome is an active and growing ministry that is comprised of adults, teens, and children who are committed to fostering the sung prayer of the assembly. The members of St. Jerome seek to enhance the spirituality of the community through sung prayer. This is done through participation as a choir, as instrumentalists, or as cantors. We welcome all who are interested in serving in our music ministry and value your individual gifts and contributions.
There are a variety of services that offer different ways to become involved with the music ministry. If you have previous choir experience, play an instrument, or simply love to sing, we encourage you to share your gifts with the parish community. Each choir has a scheduled rehearsal time, unless otherwise noted, and sings/plays for a specific liturgy on Saturday or Sunday.
