The prayer garden is a great sacred space to spend some time in prayer and the great outdoors. The prayer garden is open to the entire community.
The St. Jerome Prayer Garden was fully funded by contributions of parishioners and was dedicated by Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller on April 6, 2014. Prayer opportunities include a rosary surrounding a statue of Mary, Stations of the Cross, a bronze statue of Jesus, the Fisher of Men atop a soothing waterfall, and a crucifix. Two niches with mosaics of Our Lady of Guadalupe are available for anyone wishing to bring and light their own candles.
The St. Jerome community has been blessed by the generous, anonymous donation of the Jesus, Fisher of Men bronze station. A friend of the parish commissioned J. Payne Lara of Navasota, Texas, to create this original, one-of-a-kind piece. To see samples of more of his work, visit his website at http://www.jpaynelara.com.
