The St. Jerome Sports complex was an initiative that began under Pastor Fr. Scott Janysek in 2018 as an exciting way to offer our community a place to meet and our children a place to play. The St. Jerome Development Committee, which includes representatives from our many ministries, took on the task and worked many hours to design the complex to fit the needs of our community and CYO program.
Phase 1 was completed in August of 2020, and includes a concession stand, soccer fields, restrooms, walking track and concrete pads for future picnic areas.
On October 10, 2020, Archbishop Gustavo Siller-Garcia blessed the complex and we held a ribbon ceremony where the Pawelek family cut the ribbon in honor of all families who made this dream a reality.
We are extremely grateful to our entire Family of Families that donated their time, talent or treasure to make this dream a reality. This will be something that we will continue to enjoy for many years to come.
As we move forward with the complex, we have big goals to see the complex grow into a community park, where people of all ages will come to spend time with family and friends, watch a soccer game or walk around the track. Some of our future projects include memorial benches, shaded picnic areas, picnic tables, trees, lights, irrigation, a playground, and baseball fields.
Donations toward future projects, maintenance and repairs are always appreciated. Our 1st Sunday second collection is earmarked for our Sports Complex.
